Now Available - Total Equipment Protection (TEP)
TEP is a bundled service plan, combining ERP (insurance) and ESRP (service). TEP is very advantageous to our customers and should be the primary offer for all CDMA and iDEN device activations & upgrades/replacements.
TEP - What It Covers & How It Works.
Equipment Replacement Plan (ERP) is an insurance program offered by Asurion that provides coverage for lost, stolen or physically damaged devices, including liquid damage; a $50 non-refundable deductible applies to each approved replacement. Limit of 3 approved ERP replacements in any 12 month period. Replacements may be reconditioned or a comparable model.

Equipment Service & Repair Program (ESRP) is a monthly service plan by Sprint that provides coverage for mechanical or electrical failures, routine maintenance, and failure from normal wear and tear; includes Walk-in Service and Advanced Exchange at no additional cost per incident.

As a bundled package, TEP provides a discount over the separate prices of ESRP and ERP.

TEP is $7.00 per line per month

Further, TEP discounted pricing will be automatically applied when subscriptions with TEP on the same account reach the following levels:

0 to 50 subscriptions = no discount
51 to 999 subscriptions = TEP $6 per line per month
1,000+ subscriptions = TEP $5 per line per month

Advantages of TEP:

  • Subscribers will be covered for anything that can go wrong with the phone, excluding intentional abuse.
  • Coverage includes a value-added service and repair option for handsets, without regard to the manufacturer’s limited warranty and restrictions.
  • The handset will be repaired or replaced through ESRP or replaced through ERP, depending on the phone problem or circumstances.
  • No limit to the number of times ESRP may be used.
  • Coverage is good for as long as the phone has TEP. The manufacturer’s limited warranty on a new phone expires after 12 months.

Disadvantages of Manufacturer’s Warranty:

  • Customer pays for shipping the phone to the manufacturer.
  • Customer will be without the device for 7-10 days.
  • If the manufacturer deems the issue is not covered under warranty, the device will be returned un-repaired or the manufacturer will charge for the out of warranty repair.
